New virtual programmes enable HR and Learning teams to continue professional development and boost soft skills amid lockdown

London. 5 May 2020 – Amid COVID-19 lockdown and tightening budgets, HR professionals, L&D specialists, counselors and consultants can now train virtually to use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® assessment – boosting soft skills in a newly remote workforce. The Myers-Briggs Company announced today that virtual certification programs for the MBTI® assessment are now available. The company has also released a series of virtual workshops for organisations looking to roll out MBTI-based development to their employees.

“We’ve been facilitating virtual training for clients for some time now, but placed priority on getting virtual certification available for customers given the circumstances,” says Jeff Hayes, president and CEO of The Myers-Briggs Company. “The insights individuals gain through personality assessments are incredible. Travel restrictions shouldn’t put a stop to progressing personal and professional development.”

MBTI Virtual Certification

The MBTI Virtual Certification programme teaches participants how to use the MBTI Step I assessment to address everyday people challenges – from dealing with conflict to managing stress. It also provides them with a personal development experience where they learn to appreciate difference and recognise their own strengths and blind spots.

“We’ve focused this course on being engaging and interactive,” said Lorraine Mills, Senior Director of Global Professional Services at The Myers-Briggs Company. “We leveraged best practice for virtual delivery in our course design, combining live expert-led lessons with individual e-learning and group work. Participants will actively practice what they’ve learned every day, then complete an exam to gain their certification.”

The MBTI Virtual Certification program also includes a 90-minute follow-up session for each cohort. Participants can share their insights on working with the MBTI, ask questions and consolidate their learning, all led by an MBTI expert practitioner.

New Virtual Workshops offer development for the time-strapped

Where HR and people development teams lack capacity, The Myers-Brigg’s Company’s new MBTI Essentials Virtual Workshop introduces individuals and teams to the Myers-Briggs personality framework and explore personality difference. These virtually facilitated sessions are led by a Myers-Briggs Company consultant and teach participants how to work and collaborate more effectively. An initial 90-minute MBTI Essentials Virtual Workshop can be paired with additional 60-minute sessions on:

  • Enhancing Communication
  • Managing Change
  • Building Resilience

Girls in Tech, a non-profit based in Silicon Valley, California, recently praised the MBTI Essentials Virtual Workshop delivered for their high-profile board of executives:

“The session armed us with an invaluable tool to be more effective in achieving our organizational goals,” said Adriana Gascoigne, founder, CEO and board member of Girls in Tech. “We’re better able to move forward as a team thanks to the insights we gained. In fact, we found it so helpful we’re looking at doing a similar workshop with employees soon.”
