February is B Corp Month!
The Myers-Briggs Company became a Certified B Corp last year. Celebrate our first B Corp Month with us – see what it means to be a B Corporation, and how we’ve helped our community
B Corporations (B Corps) are changing the way world does business. Now that we have Certified B Corp status, we’re proud to be leaders of a global movement using #businessasaforceforgood
In 2018, The Myers-Briggs Company achieved Certified B Corporation status, joining more than 2,750 Certified B Corporations from over 150 industries and 60 countries.
We’re very proud of this. It shows we’re changing the way we work and our commitment to doing business in a way that considers the triple bottom line – people, profit and planet.
B Corporations consider the impact of their business on their workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment. This means that as well as doing great things for our business, we are doing great things that have a broader positive impact too.
February is B Corp Month. We’d like to celebrate by sharing some highlights from our UK community squad. Thanks to everyone who has made this happen!
Partnering with PACT
In May last year, we chose Parents and Children Together (PACT) to be our first official charity partner. Here are a few highlights from of our activities:
- Taking part in physical fundraising challenges including PACT’s Marathon in May challenge. We’ve seen this have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our employees
- Collecting workwear, sportswear and toiletries for Alana House, one of PACT’s community projects that provides support to vulnerable women
- Supporting the recruitment of their Head of Adoption (watch this space for a case study)
- Providing a place for PACT’s Head of HR on our MBTI Foundation Programme
Building relationships in our community
Over the last few months we’ve been working closely with Restore, an Oxfordshire-based mental health charity that helps people develop the skills they need to recover and lead meaningful lives. Our professional services team has provided MBTI feedback sessions to Restore employees, and we’ve received their expertise too – Restore provided Mental Health First Aid Training sessions for a group of our staff.
Other activities have included collecting coats and sleeping bags for the homeless and supporting various other charities in different ways including The Prison Phoenix Trust and the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary…our team have been busy!
We have plenty of activities lined up for this year – look out for updates on our environment, employee, customer, governance and community initiatives.
