B Corp news

Welcome to the first B Corp news round-up from The Myers-Briggs Company!

We were thrilled to become a Certified B Corporation last year

This is our chance to share some great people-oriented and community-focused stories that come from our B Corporation activities (and if you’ve forgotten what a B Corp is, here’s a quick reminder).

We’ll publish another new story later in the year. In the meantime, here are our recent B Corp activities – read the full stories below.

Doing more miles for PACT
The adoption organization PACT (Parents and Children Together) is The Myers-Briggs Company's official charity partner in the UK. To help us see the valuable work they do, a PACT team delivered workshops to Oxford staff to raise awareness of domestic abuse … it was an inspiring insight into their Alana House community project, and their adoption and Bounce Back 4 Kids work.

On a sporting theme, our employees supported PACT's Marathon in May campaign, though one of our product managers Stu Belcher got the month wrong and ran the London Marathon in April instead. Still, it wasn't lost effort – he raised over £1,200.

And while we're here, we'd like to congratulate PACT for winning the Charity Governance Award for ‘Embracing Digital’ this year with their 24/7 online adopter hub – see what they did and why they won. Congratulations!

A time for ACTION: Earth Day 2019
To raise awareness of our impact on the environment, The Myers-Briggs Company celebrated Earth Day in our different offices. Here's a bite-sized taster of the activities.

Opening doors to B Corp
We are very proud to have achieved Certified B Corporation status. And we want to spread the word about B Corp so that other businesses find out more – which is why, in March, our Oxford office held an open event.

The event was run with, and hosted by, two independent B Corp Leaders, Grant Hayward and Thalia Carr. We invited key influencers, leaders and HR professionals in the Oxfordshire business community and our packed boardroom held 35 delegates. They saw presentations from Charmian Love, Co-founder and Chair of B Lab UK and Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Said Business School; Ollie Forster, Sustainability Executive at Climate Care (voted number 1 in the UK B Corp ‘Best for the World’ list); and The Myers-Briggs Company’s Head of HR for Europe, Will Cleare.

The event was a huge success and we hope to make it even bigger next time.
