OPP psychologist to reveal difference between GPs and neurosurgeons
Psychologist Rob Bailey, Managing Consultant of Research and Development at OPP, will co-present a study at the British Psychological Society's Division of Occupational Psychology Conference, 2011.
The presentation reveals small but significant personality differences between general practitioners and neurosurgeons, revealed by the 16PF® questionnaire.
OPP provided the 16PF questionnaire for the study, which was conducted independently by Louise Faulkes, Consultant Psychologist, Fiona Patterson, Director of the Work Psychology Group, and Sarah McCarthy at City University. The presentation will take place on Thursday, 13th January at 3.40pm.
The 16PF personality questionnaire measures a set of 16 traits that describe and predict a person's behaviour in a variety of contexts. Interpreted by a qualified practitioner, it aims to provide comprehensive information about an individual's whole personality, revealing potential, confirming capacity to sustain performance in a larger role and helping identify development needs.
With more than 3,500 members, the Division of Occupational Psychology is one of the largest divisions of the British Psychological Society. The Annual Conference is a three-day event held in a different UK venue each year.
