The Myers-Briggs Company is delighted to see its flagship tools renew their registered test status with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
The MBTI Step I, MBTI Step II and FIRO assessments were subject to a rigorous independent review by the BPS to demonstrate their credibility. The BPS then reviewed the quality of the materials, research, reliability, validity and quality of the reports against the criteria of the BPS and European Federation of Psychologists Associations.
As the BPS says on its website, 'As a society we support and enhance the development and application of psychology for the greater public good, setting high standards for research, education, and knowledge, and disseminating our knowledge to increase the wider public awareness of psychology and its importance.’
The review of our tools was successful. We’re very pleased to announce that the MBTI Step I, MBTI Step II and FIRO assessments are BPS-registered assessments.
Review comments include:
“The MBTI Step I is a useful and highly usable instrument…provides a good overview of a test taker’s broad personality preferences according to meaningful dichotomies, that are associated with a number of important organisational outcomes.”
“The FIRO questionnaires are useful tools for exploring interpersonal needs with individuals or teams within a coaching and development context. They are relatively unique among psychometric questionnaires in having this specific focus.”
