University challenge

OPP's consultants take team development to the higher education sector - read more in our March round-up

Our monthly consultants’ round-up covers development programmes in the manufacturing, education and housing sectors

Change management and team development were key themes for our consultants during March.

Manufacturing and change management

The senior team of a product manufacturer in the hygiene market wanted to build on their positive and open working style while acknowledging the changes they had experienced over the past five years. Our consultants delivered an MBTI experience day, packed with interactive activities based on the MBTI framework. The activities gave team members the opportunity to understand and adapt their communicating and motivating style in times of change.

Team unity in higher education

We helped to facilitate a university leadership and development team strategy meeting, focusing on the team’s contribution to the wider university and on what it means to be a unified team. Participants then used a team session to understand their own and others’ preferences, and deepen their knowledge of Type dynamics.

Constructive conflict

This month, we concluded an executive team development programme that used the MBTI and TKI instruments. The client is a community housing and support organisation, and the team sessions looked at the following areas: team strengths and blind spots, building trust, and identifying team strategies for enabling constructive conflict.

OPP consultants also concluded a three-year piece of work with one of the biggest construction companies in Europe – delivering more than 150 developmental coaching sessions to 23 senior managers of a multi-billion pound project – and helped a thread manufacturer recruit for a management role based in Bangladesh using the Saville Swift Analysis Aptitude test.
